The aim of the showcase
is to highlight exemplary
community-engaged research
being done within
the Faculty of Extension
and across the university campus.

You are invited to Community University Engagement Showcase III: Towards A More Engaged University, hosted by the Faculty of Extension. Using exemplary projects and panel discussions, participants will be encouraged to discuss community-university engagement and the critiques of engagement through research, teaching and citizenship.
Registration is free, but space is limited. Please register early to assure your seat.
This event is sponsored
by the Faculty of Extension.
Following a complimentary breakfast, keynote speaker Dr. Budd Hall, founding Director of the University of Victoria’s Office of Community Based Research, will set the stage for a day of thinking more critically about engagement from multiple perspectives and discussing strategies for improving engagement and outcomes.
Concurrent morning sessions provide opportunities to share experiences of community university engagement. Following a lunch hosted by the Faculty of Extension, panelists will move the focus of the discussion to critiques of the practice of engagement in research, teaching and citizenship. The day concludes with a round table discussion on strategies for becoming a more engaged university.
You are also welcome to attend the Faculty of Extension’s Lifelong Learning Awards Gala 5 pm at Enterprise Square. Attending the 5-8 pm Awards Gala event only? RSVP here. Alternatively, you can RSVP when registering for the Research Showcase.
